How to Login to the CIDB CIMS Portal

Go to www.cidb.org.za

Open your web browser (Chrome recommended) and navigate to the CIDB website. Click "Online Services" or "CIMS Login" from the top navigation menu.

Enter Your Credentials

Enter your registered email address and password. These are the credentials you created when you first registered on the CIDB portal.

Select Your Company

Your dashboard shows all companies linked to your email. Click on the relevant company to view registration details, grading, and status.

If you're registering for the first time, you'll need to create a new account on the CIDB CIMS portal. All new registrations start at Grade 1 (up to R500,000 tender value).

Yes. You can register for multiple CIDB class categories. The 5 primary classes are: CE (Civil Engineering), GB (General Building), ME (Mechanical Engineering), EP (Electrical Engineering - Infrastructure), and EB (Electrical Engineering - Building). There are also 15 specialist sub-categories (e.g., SB for Asphalt, SD for Demolition). Each class can have a different grading level based on your experience and financial capacity in that category.

How long does CIDB online registration take?

Grade 1 CIDB registration is typically activated within 48 working hours of successful submission and payment. Grading upgrades (Grade 2 and above) take approximately 21 working days. During peak periods (January-March), processing can take longer. Incomplete applications are returned and must be resubmitted, causing additional delays.
