The Central Supplier Database (CSD) report is a mandatory document for every government tender in South Africa. It proves your company is registered on the National Treasury's supplier database with verified tax compliance, B-BBEE status, CIDB grading, and bank account details. What is the Central Supplier Database (CSD)?
The CSD is a single, centralised database of organisations, institutions, and individuals who can provide goods and services to government. It was established by National Treasury to:
- • Centralise supplier information — one registration for all government departments
- • Auto-verify compliance — real-time checks with SARS, CIPC, CIDB, and the dtic
- • Reduce fraud — bank account verification and cross-referencing of director information
- • Assign MAAA Numbers — your unique supplier identifier across all government procurement
How to Download Your CSD Report — Step by Step
Log in to CSD
Visit www.csd.gov.za and sign in with your registered email and password.
Tip: Bookmark the CSD portal — the URL is https://secure.csd.gov.za/.
Select "Supplier Registration Summary"
From the dashboard, navigate to Reports → Supplier Registration Summary to view your full CSD profile.
Tip: This summary is the official "CSD Report" that government buyers verify.
Download PDF Report
Click "Download PDF" to generate your CSD Report. It shows your MAAA number, tax status, B-BBEE level, CIDB grading (if applicable), bank account verification, and compliance status.
Tip: Download a fresh copy for every tender — reports older than 7 days may be rejected.
Verify All Fields Are Green
Check that Tax Compliance, B-BBEE, CIDB, and Bank Account fields show green "Verified" status. Red or yellow flags must be resolved before submission.
Tip: Tax non-compliance is the #1 reason CSD reports fail verification.
What's On Your CSD Report?
When government buyers verify your bid, they check these fields on your CSD report:
MAAA Number
Your unique supplier registration number (format: MAAA000000)
Company Name & Registration
CIPC-verified company name, registration number, and type
Tax Compliance Status
Real-time verification with SARS — must show "Compliant"
B-BBEE Status Level
Verified B-BBEE level from uploaded certificate or sworn affidavit
CIDB Grading
Construction industry grading (if applicable) — verified with CIDB
Bank Account Verification
Confirmed bank account details for payment processing
Director Information
Names, ID numbers, and positions of all directors (cross-referenced with CIPC)
Commodity Codes (UNSPSC)
Categories of goods/services you can supply to government
Common CSD Report Issues & Fixes
Tax status shows "Non-Compliant"
File outstanding returns on SARS eFiling, request a Tax Compliance Status PIN, and allow 24–48 hours for CSD to update.
B-BBEE certificate expired
Upload a new valid certificate or sworn affidavit (for EMEs). CSD auto-verifies with the dtic within 48 hours.
CIDB grading not showing
Verify your CIDB number is correctly captured. CIDB updates to CSD can take 5–10 business days after registration.
Bank account "Unverified"
Upload bank confirmation letter (not older than 3 months) or bank statement. Allow 3–5 days for verification.
Cannot log in / password reset fails
Call the CSD Help Desk at 012 406 9222 or email caborioasupport@treasury.gov.za. They can unlock your account within 24 hours.
MAAA number not found
Your MAAA number is assigned upon successful registration. If lost, log in to CSD → Dashboard → your MAAA number is displayed at the top.
